Classes

Whether you are a beginner or an advanced sewer, there is a sewing class that’s just right for you…all levels of sewing are catered for!

Come and learn new skills in a fun and friendly environment: we offer classes in patchwork, machine embroidery, bag making, software, dressmaking and general sewing.  Be part of our sewing community on Wednesdays by joining in the fun at our social sewing day, where we create, stitch and gather – bring along your your own project to work on…or not – sometimes the chatting gets in the way of the sewing, and that’s ok!

Beginner sewing classes are held on Monday and Thursday mornings and Monday evenings – begin your sewing adventure in a fun, friendly and non-threatening atmosphere!  We aim to get you comfortable with sewing – it’s not that scary, we promise!  Fridays are devoted to beginner patchwork – if you want to learn how to make your own quilts, this is the best class for you.  Kids are also catered for, with our regular Thursday and Saturday Kids Club.

Don’t feel comfortable with joining in a group?  That’s ok too!  Ask us about some one-on-one classes for individual attention.

Please book in for your classes, to help us with our planning.  Full payment is requested at the time of booking.  You can find our booking policies below.  Please take the time to read these and become familiar with them.  That makes the process easy for everyone. Requirements lists are provided once payment is received.  Thanks for cooperating with this…it makes our sewing classes run smoother for everybody!

Book into a class soon…we can’t wait to get you started on your sewing journey!

Class Booking & Cancellation Policy for 2017

Our booking and cancellation policy at Sew Patch n Quilt is here to protect everyone.  It’s pretty simple…if you book a class, you pay for your class.  If we cancel a class, you get your money back.

  • Bookings are required for all classes.
  • Full payment of short term classes is required at the time of booking. You will be given your requirements list when full payment is made.
  • If you just don’t attend your class, your payment is not refundable or transferable.
  • If you cancel your booking for a class with an in-house tutor, your class fee is only refundable or transferable if your position can be filled by someone else.  If your position can’t be filled, the class fee will not be refunded or transferred to another class, and payment is forfeited.
  • Long term classes require a $50 deposit. This deposit is secured as payment for the last two classes in the course, at which time no class payment is required. Each class is paid for on the day of class. This deposit is non-refundable if you stop coming to class.
  • Class deposits are only refundable if the class is cancelled by Sew Patch n Quilt.
  • Classes by visiting tutors require full payment when you book into the class. Class fees for visiting tutors are non-refundable under any circumstances, unless the class is cancelled by Sew Patch n Quilt.
  • We reserve the right to cancel a class due to lack of numbers. Three students are required for a class to proceed for most tutors.
  • A full refund of your class fees/deposit will be provided if we cancel a class for whatever reason.  Alternatively, you can choose to transfer your fee to another class.
